Kishoka Youth Org: From Ocean Waste to Community Wealth

​My journey began on the Mtongwe coastline, where I started collecting the "plastic tide" of discarded flip-flops and bottles. Through the #WorldLitterRun, we’ve mobilized thousands to clear tons of waste, but our mission is now evolving from collection to innovation. ​We are working toward using non-virgin plastic recovered from the ocean to manufacture our Rotary Barrels. These rolling containers allow village women to fetch water with dignity, significantly reducing physical strain and time spent on daily chores. By transforming ocean trash into life-changing tools, I hope to inspire a future where environmental restoration directly fuels community empowerment.
